We had a great turnout! 17 people brought their rakes, shovels, pitchforks, and other lawn tools for the cleanup. The boys (and family members) worked very hard and did a fantastic job making everything look ship-shape. The caretakers provided lunch while Mr. O'Dell regaled us with tales of burials at sea.
The gravesites were very interesting. We discovered a Revolutionary War soldier buried there, Hezekiah Davison. That's amazing to me that someone who fought for our Independence more than 200 years ago would be buried in Washington. We were such a wilderness until the 1850s.
