PLC MEETING MINUTES - 08.0203

  • Opening of meeting and roll call
  • Bear Patrol report: Bear patrol is attempting to become an honor patrol. They need to put patrol sign on their patrol equipment in particular the patrol box - will need to talk to Mr. Hansen. Service projects for the becoming honor patrol requesting approval: Belfair State Park clean-up, Clear Creek Trail clean-up, trash pickup at Banner Forest, and one other poss. project. Approval given for becoming honor patrol, but get SM approval before the patrol service projects or outing
  • Troop goal: receive the quality unit award for 2008
  • Previous meeting minutes accepted. SM apologizes for no games. ASPL has not met w/ librarians
  • Easton: problems with cleanup delays and personal gear all over. SPL, ASPL watch clean-up and make sure it is timely. Good snow at Easton, plenty of extra time, good igloos, etc.
  • Edgeworks: date is 2/19/08. Luke poss. to go.
  • OLCNet.com: print order form for 2/5/08. Orders have been made, but a few small problems with the real small sizes, so they had to up the size a little bit on Zac’s stuff.
  • Paradise: meet at 7:30 on Sat. 2/23/08 at Lake Kathryn . Leave at 8:00. Hope to arrive around 10:00. Setup camp and tents ASAP. Sak lunch when camp is set up. SM’s wil be cooking for dinner and breakfast. Build snow caves. 5 scouts, 4 SM’s will be going. Dinner at 5:30, meal cleanup immediately after dinner. Evening gathering @ 7:30 P.M. Wakeup at 6:30, outside no later than 7:15 A.M. Breakfast, w/ camp cleanup immediately after. Morn. Activities. Leave at 11:00 A.M. w/ playtime before if everything is cleaned up. Suggest bringing $5 for a lunch on the way back. Get back to Lake Kathryn at approx. 2:00 P.M.
  • Summer camp: TBD
  • Feb.: food safety and sanitation. MB - climbing
  • March: swimming, safety afloat. MB - Cit. in the Community, PLC on the 2 nd.
  • 2/5/08 - Patrol corners: advancement sign off, uniform inspections, etc. Training: First aid for climbing and 2 nd class requirements. Game: turkey
  • 2/12/08 - training: food safety, camp sanitation. Game: statue tag/ chaos. Patrol corners: backpack inspection for those going camping, advancements for the rest.
  • 2/26/08 - training: Drugs, Alcohol, Tobacco (Mrs. Odell). Patrol corners: open. Game: two games of bump (Luke)
  • 2/16/08 - KPCC tables and chairs setup service project at 2:00 P.M.
